Used in Albarrie’s SorbWeb™ Plus Secondary Containment System, Albarrie’s SAM™ (Super Absorbent Mat) is a permeable oil-reactive smart fabric that absorbs and locks-in oil, immobilizing it on contact. Manage chronic leaks, localize and isolate small accidental spills, and make clean-up easy. Capable of absorbing up to 20 liters per square meter (5.3 gallons per square yard).

SMART FABRIC TECHNOLOGY

Albarrie’s SorbWeb™ Transformer Secondary Oil Containment System uses a patented mineral oil-reactive self-sealing smart fabric technology known as Super Absorbent Mat (SAM™). The smart fabric contains a unique proprietary blend of dense oil-immobilizing polymers, called Alabsorb, needle-punched between two nonwoven fabric layers. The polymers chemically react to the oil’s hydrocarbons, trapping and absorbing them within the fabric.

MINIMIZE ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE

SAM™ works as a permeable reactive barrier for an oil contaminant plume. As the plume moves (typically under a natural gradient) and flows through the SAM™ geotextile, treated water exits the other side, minimizing environmental damage.
