TECHNICAL FABRICS BY THE ROLL

Cascade™ Nonwoven Liquid Filter Media

Cascade™ Liquid Filter Media is used in many solid/ liquid separation applications such as candle filters, belt filter presses, disc filters, pressure tube filters, and rotary drum filters.

LIQUID FILTER MEDIA FOR INDUSTRIAL DEWATERING

Liquid filtration is a function most people perform every day when making their coffee or tea. It’s a straightforward process of separating solids from liquids using a barrier, also known as a filter media. The process involves pressing a liquid substrate containing solids through the filter media, allowing clean water to pass while leaving the solid materials behind.

The filter media is designed with tiny holes or pores of a specified size to block solids, particles, and contaminants from going through the filter as the liquid passes through it. As the solids become blocked, the filter media develops a cake, which sometimes is sold or recycled for commercial use.

Although the process is simple, industrial liquid filtration has many variables and factors to consider when choosing a filter media for dewatering. Understanding your dewatering equipment and goals helps determine what type of liquid filter media you need. In essence, your filtration media must:

  • Be able to trap solids
  • Have chemical resistance
  • Be strong and durable to handle the flow stress
  • Not plug or clog (also known as blinding) the fabric with solids

Cascade™ Liquid Filter Media is used in many solid/ liquid separation applications such as candle filters, belt filter presses, disc filters, pressure tube filters, and rotary drum filters. Albarrie’s Cascadeliquid filter media is a nonwoven needlepunched technical fabric designed with a supportive woven scrim depending on the OEM application.
