Polyester fabrics can be used in dust collection systems where the temperature does not exceed 130°C (366°F) and the concentration of chemically active gases is relatively low. Polyester is suited for applications where the requirements regarding dust emission are not too strict. For these applications Albarrie offers nonwoven polyester fabrics in the weight range from 350g/m² to 1000g/m² and permeability ranges from 90 l/(dm². min) to 200 l/(dm². min). Polyester filtration fabrics are manufactured in two versions, either with or without an internal supporting fabric (scrim). Each fabric is calendared to achieve the optimal fabric density and is available in many different finishes (griege, singed, glazed or chemically treated). Self supported fabrics can be used to manufacture filter bags up to 6m long for pulse-jet dust collectors. Technical parameters of these fabrics (tensile strength, stretch) have been optimized to ensure a long life for the fabric. Due to the absence of supporting scrim, self-supported fabrics possess very uniform density in their cross-section. This uniform density leads to excellent uniform filtration characteristics of this fabric. The lack of a stiff internal scrim also results in an excellent elasticity which makes these fabrics easy to clean in a pulse jet system. Albarrie also manufactures bags in nonwoven fabrics for shaker and reverse air collectors. Albarrie offers light but strong fabrics for shaker collectors and reverse collectors. Albarrie also manufactures a nonwoven polyester fabric designed to collect fine particulate matter. These fabrics are manufactured using polyester microfibers, which have a diameter of up to 3 times lower than standard polyester fibers.
