Albarrie for the last 15 years has been involved in providing containment lining products for industries such as; Municipal Solid Waste Landfills; Hazardous Waste Sites; Nuclear Sites; Soil Remediation; Artificial Ponds and Lakes. Products were developed to contain all liquids and prevent any of the liquids from entering the sub-soil or prevent precipitation entering the contaminated sub-soils.
Albarrie has been involved during this period in American Standards Testing & Methods [ASTM] in developing test methods for the products which we manufacture. We have developed these test methods in association with Environmental Engineers, Civil Engineers and Government officials. We have been involved with the Geosynthetic Research Institute [GRI] in the promotion of liners and the development of standards. We have presented technical papers to various conferences in North America and Europe promoting testing results achieved from our products and the promotion of new products to solve existing containment problems.
Our customers in North America range from Governmental Institutions to the leaders in Municipal Solid Waste Landfills, Major players in the Mining Industry; down to the homeowner who wants put an artificial pond on their property. Our customer list and sites which we have supplied material and continue to supply material is extensive.
Research and Development over the years is very important to the continuation of developing products for the containment industry. To enhance the products which we have and to find solutions for every situation in the containment of liquids which could potentially harm the environment.
The evolution of such containment systems is now the SorbWeb™ Plus system. Designed for the containment of hydrocarbons. Here we together with Kinectrics, a world renown organization in the Research and Development, testing of electrical equipment, have now a system to allow water to flow through the system but contain any oils, edible or not. The system is Kinectric’s design with the major components designed by Albarrie.
Using our expertise in geosynthetics we can design systems giving flexibility to the client and enabling the client to fulfill their mandate at meeting the requirements of the regulations for Secondary Oil Spill Containment.
