Chemical Finishes

Albarrie provides various chemical finishes to their manufactured fabrics.

Depending on customer requirements and facility processes the chemical finish will vary. These chemical finishes are applied by a proprietary process, during which a fabric is fully immersed in a chemical solution and dried. Additional curing contributes to improved durability of the chemical finishes. When the body of the fabric is saturated in a chemical solution each individual fiber filament becomes fully coated and encapsulated by a layer of polymer.

Antistatic
  • Improves conductivity of fibers
  • Coats fiber with thin layer of material that will attract a thin layer of moisture
  • Fabric holds a charge opposite to that normally accumulated to neutralize the static charge
  • Polyester fabric
  • Typical for light polymer powders
Water Repellent
  • Fibers are treated evenly to provide the lowest critical surface tension
  • Main purpose is to prevent bags from blinding caused by accumulation of wet, sticky or agglomerating dust
  • All filtration systems where moisture in the flue gas is present
  • Drying processes, food processing and combustion processes
Water and Oil Repellent
  • Provides a durable, clear protective barrier
  • Characterized by extremely low surface tension, which is lower than that of oils
  • Any industrial facility which burns any type of a fossil fuel i.e.; cement plants, refuse systems and incinerators
Acid Resistant
  • Imparts hydrophobic and oleophobic properties
  • Improves abrasion resistance of fabrics
  • Improvement of bag life by stopping the acid degradation process
  • Polymer systems encapsulate all individual filaments protecting them from chemical attack
  • Wood burning processes
  • Processes in metallurgical industries where significant quantities of hydrocarbons can be drawn to the filtration system when rolled steel is coated with rust protecting oils
